Branson / Camping
As usual, things have been on the busy side for me. I just returned from a week of traveling and Nora and I are gearing up for another wedding videography gig this weekend.
Nora dropped my Mom an email and I liked it so much I thought it would make a good blog entry. Nora says...
My employer sent me to a conference in Branson, MO last weekend. He and his family went too. I left Thursday afternoon and Eric and the kids met me there on Saturday. The conference was good, but the free time was even better! The hotel was right on Table Rock Lake, so my boss rented a boat one afternoon and we went out on the lake briefly. The weather turned bad and we had to go back to the docks, but it was fun while it lasted! The hotel had an indoor and an outdoor pool, so we got in plenty of swimming. We also went to the Titanic Museum and the Butterfly Palace.
All this week, Pierce had Cub Scouts Day Camp. He has to be at the school at 8 am to get his ride out to the camp grounds, and I pick him up at school at 4pm. However, on Wednesday, I took the day off to volunteer at Day Camp. It was sunny and hot, but we had a really nice breeze blowing. The theme of camp this year is ‘Spy Cubs’.
On Wed, the boys enjoyed activities such as the ‘egg drop’, archery, water fights, relay races, and a history lesson on spies and spy tactics in WWII. I guess I didn’t drink enough water throughout the day and got dehydrated because I ended up feeling terrible afterwards. About an hour or two before we left for home, I started getting a headache, and as I was driving home, I started feeling slightly nauseous.
I had Pierce take a shower, and then I took a shower when we got home. Pierce was fine, but I called Eric and he picked up Anna and dinner on the way home from work. I decided to lie down on the sofa, hoping I would feel better soon, and I did, but I fell asleep early (we were watching ‘The Wizard of Oz’ as a family and I just couldn’t keep my eyes open). I am so thankful that I did not volunteer all week!
