Backyard Swimming Pool

After dinner last night we filled up the little wading pool we have in the backyard and let Pierce and Anna play in it. Pierce was in charge of the hose. Suffice to say, the backyard, patio, and Anna were well watered.

Most of the neighborhood kids came over to visit and play too; all in their regular clothes. I'm not sure how many parents would like to kick my butt based on how wet their children came home last night.

Saw a joke on the internet this morning. Nothing like this has happened at our house, but I still think its funny.

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother
was tucking her small boy into bed. She was about to turn off
the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy,
will you sleep with me tonight?" The mother smiled and gave
him a reassuring hug. "I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep
in Daddy's room."

A long silence was broken at last by a shaken little voice
saying, "The big sissy."
